A flash site will destroy your search engine efforts because flash sites can't be "seen" by the search engines.
The search engines are always looking for new sites to add to their catalogue of sites. It's ok to use flash, but the key is to use it sparingly.
Instead of making the entire site with flash, which is hard for the search engines to find. It is far better to have just one flash graphic on the site, and the rest regular, plain old text. That way, you can have a bit of flash to wow your visitors, and still have a chance to do well in the search engines.
Another word of caution...
If you must use flash, use it sparingly because the search engines prefer plain old text, *and* if your snazzy, zooming, pink and purple flash animation draws so much attention to itself that no one reads your content you'll be undermining your own efforts.
